Of course we'd tell people where the money is going...having said that given the shambles that is this forum, people contributing money would have to agree that the people responsible will make the right decisions. Ie. Were not fukin having a vote every time a banner is made!! lol hmmm I think we will need a vote to decide this!!! yes not a problem... just a simple "we spent $150 on ..." would keep everyone happy. i guess this will have to be discussed at the bbq

The Port of Sydney Flag looks ordinary. I would have throught for the price they are charging having something custom made must be pretty close in price.

Guys just thought id get people to comment on whether they would endorse the idea of a supporters group kitty. Ie. We set up a bank account (or use one of our own) and get people to put in donations that would go to making banners, flags etc... I think people underestimate how much $$$ are put in to make banners, and it really cant be just a small group of us that pays all the time... So whos in? Any ideas on how it should work? I'm in mate .

There are two issues here:
1) Many of us would be giving money to people we've never met before, so want to know that it's being properly used, and that if too much is raised, that it would be spent on another banner/ flag rather than beer. At the same time, we don't want to get bogged down in accounting and constitutions, so I like the idea of running a "thermometer", whereby targets for each now item are placed online, and then progressively ticked off.
2) Happy to trust those doing the work with the key decisions, instead of having to have a vote on everything. If they produce rubbish, we stop giving money for more....

It would be an overall account...we would probably buy material in bulk for lots of different things and see what we can do with it with the money. Any left over money will just stay in the kitty untill we have enough to make something else...

And I'm happy to offer my accounting experience to put together various budgets and cash movement reports etc so everyone can keep informed about where money's coming from and where it's going to.

Nice idea Factor, it would be good to see an account of where the money has been spent. Now; when and where can I donate? Is anyone going to get the ball rolling and set up an account on our own, or are we still waiting to hear back from the club?

I went to see a few banks today and the best option appears to be with ANZ...you can just set up a normal account with like 5 signaturies, they send out 5 access cards. If you only witdraw six times a month there are no bank fees....sounds good. But it will have to work on trust...
Factor- Everytime we withdraw money and buy stuff we could email the details to you and you set up a financial table or something to keep people up to date with where the money is going..

can i suggest a visa debit card? i have one with stgeorge. it gives me unlimited fee free transactions when i use the visa(credit) option but being a debit account if there is no money in the account transactions will be declined. the only down side to this account from stgeorge is a $6 a month account keeping fee if the account balance falls below $1000. im sure other banks have the same kind of card available
