Football stadiums are cramped and the fans close to the playing surface. 10000 people in a stadium that holds 44000 the atmosphere won't be that good. I think the closest thing to a football stadium I've seen since coming to Australia is Morconi. Its just a shame we don't have a stadium like that, but bigger.

look at the old NSL, one iner city team ( Olympic ) lucky to get 2500 fans to a game. 3 western teams each 3500 fans thats over 10,000 they will not travel to Aussie Stadium, they will go to Parra. They want families? Families live in the west & have cars, 2 adults 2 kid on train & bus to the Aussie Stadium, I dont think so!! Families dont want before & after drinking holes, families want travel an hour or more so put the games where the families can get to easily, Parra. Free shutles travel from Parra staition to the ground.

Hainvg been to football games in a good number of countries I am yet to encounter a ground full of families. There are groups of people who go to games, but families are not the large part of the crowd.

what about North Sydney. Its within walking distance of the train. You don't have to pay the bridge toll if you are travelling from the north west. Its easier to avoid the bridge toll from the South west by going over gladesville. They are offering cheap rates. Everything in the area is geared around normal work hours so off peak should be ok. Its about the same distance to walk to the city afterwards as from the SFS for the restaurants and pubs, and you get to go over the Harbour Bridge.

Anyone who supported Spirit knows North Sydney will never work. Some of the problems include: * No corporate facilities * Ground staff who hate football * The cricket pitch * A council who would rather the ground sit empy than be used (and said as much in the local papers) * Northern Spirit were not allowed to get any of the money from food drinks etc. * A mayor who did not support football being played at the ground. * It's an oval. On the upside it had the Mac Terrace ;D ;D ;D

A part of my soul will always be at North Sydney Oval but let's face it, ovals as a football venue suck some serious ass. From the Mac, play on the other side of the field recquired a pair of binoculars.

SFS is a bitch for me to get to, but a heck of a lot easier than Parra stadium. At least SFS is closely reliant on city public transport. Everyone has their own agenda as to where they want the team to play, but think about the bigger picture.
