Parra's playing surface was atrocious (Edensor Park was much better).
I have to travel to both venues under discussion and I'd much rather go to Paddington with it's great pubs, shops and restaurants than Parramatta, whose main feature is a dull, depressing shopping mall the size of a small African country. It's a rat hole. I get suicidal just going there.
It will be perfect for the second Sydney team if or when it arrives.

all of Sydney bar the furthest of Western suburbs can get to the Sydney CBD very easily-usually by 1 bus or train. Most major road arteries also lead to the city for those looking to bring their car in. havent tried getting there from hills have you? my house (which is about as south-east as you can get in the hills district) to SFS and back by public transport requires: 10 minute walk bus to seven hills station train to central bus to stadium or alternatively: half hour walk bus to castle hill bus to central bus to stadium either way..... its $10/15 each way. and by car its even worse. i went by car to the aus vs turkey game, and trust me..... its not something you want to undertake every fortnight @ parra i could have virtually walked

It's simple....Sydney FC to play in the City of Sydney....it's not what Soccer NSW wanted because we all know that there first choice was Parramatta Stadium. They were never going to let the premier team of Sydney play at Parramatta Stadium. Once the Lowy's, O'Neills and other corporate backers get involved the SFS was the only choice they would make.
I wouldn't worry too much, the bigger plan is to have a team from western sydney anyway. That's a good thing for the growth of the game.

I thought the reason Parra was named originally was because Sydney Blues had named SFS as there venue and the SFS was to have a 5% stake in the Sydney Blues.
When Sydney Blues dropped out of the running SFC could then name SFS as the venue (which also got the highest amount of votes in that survey they did i think)

A survey? Who, When, Where ? Soccer NSW ran a survey on their website for about 2 weeks well before the launch of the A-League. I had the results (I might still have them - I will look) The SFS was by far the prefered stadium and I think that Concord and Parra were about the same.

The SFS stadium is a perfect place for a team called Sydney FC to play out of. Look at the poetry of it! Sydney Football Stadium Sydney Football Club. An amazing alignment of names there. Plus the ground gives room for the supporter base to grow. A capacity of 42,000 gives the team room to grow without having to change locations if it exceeds the capacity of a Concord or Parra Stadium. The pre and post match environment is much better just to the east of the city then either Parramatta or Concord. You can actually park there and it displays an ambition on the part of the club. Personally wanted Concord but I have a couple of other reasons for wanting that.

Don't see why not Phorm, gotta let the n00bie foos know where it at mon. Tell ya what. You wear the cap, I'll wear my Spirit shirt and we'll get pissed and moan about how the NSL was sooooo much better (even though we both know it was utter pants). We can tell stories of fights to the death against legions of rampaging Cro's armed with nuclear flares. Can't wait.

You can praise Hendo whilst I curse him and we can laugh about Halpins vision and Big Dyls first touch. Then we can go have a beer in a decent pub as we won't be in Parrabladdymatta! ;D btw, APIA v Manly at Lambert this Sunday
