I realise that across Europe's biggest football clubs, their home stadium is in the centre of the city.
I feel here in Sydney, AUSTRALIA where football (soccer) isn't our no.1 sporting code, to travel all the way to the city might not always attract the largest crowd possible.
Do you guys feel that if any of the above mentioned alternatives where are home ground, it would attract better crowd averages.

For the record, being a passionate football supporter, I will follow and watch Sydney FC regardless where their home ground is.
A family of 4 (for example) might find it slightly difficult to constantly attend games in our busy city, instead of inner west.

Aussie Stadium is in the right place to attract the largest number of fans to games, put it in any suburb and people will assume that it's a north/south/east/west sydney club and ignore it.
Travel in Sydney is dirt cheap. $4.40 return from as far out as Hornsby, so the cost shouldn't be an issue.
The only potential problem with Aussie Stadium is that the need for large crowds to generate atmosphere, if there are only 8-10000 there, it might fall flat atmosphere-wise.

I don't want to have to travel out to Parramatta Stadium. I don't really rate it anyway.
The Showground is absolutely rubbish. You're so far away during a rectangular sport that you virtually need binoculars to watch the action.
We won't fill Stadium Australia for some time, although I feel that in five years (when our SFS contract expires) we'll be offered a similar deal to the one Souths have.
Aussie Stadium is good. It's a rectangular ground, you can see from virtually everywhere in the stands, it's easy to get to via public transport.
We won't leave the SFS unless we either move to a new custom made ground in the City or we move to Stadium Australia.

I was hoping that Parra Stadium would have been chosen as its in the middle of Sydney and wen full can create good atmosphere and im sure we would fill it up if not then atleast come close. Aussie stadium i think is too big and since im from Penrith i have alot of traveling but then again every weekend i go to the city so no excuses i guess. Aussie stadium has been chosen and since thats where we will play we should just go there and suport then cos if you love football and most importantly love Sydney FC then 1 hr or so traveling shouldnt be too bad its gonna be worth it. However i hope we do build our own stadium in future in about 5 yrs time.

Just for the record, out of all the stadiums I've attended in Europe (off the top of my head, Westfalenstadion, Müngersdorferstadion, BayArena, Ruhrstadion, Dreisamstadion, Südstadion, Stadion am Bruchweg, St. Jakobsparkstadion, Wankdorfstadion, Philipstadion and Lech Poznan) not one has ever once been anywhere remotely near a "city centre!"
It's SYDNEY FC, not Parramatta Power, not the Homebush Homies; and the club has already made clear the symbolism of playing at the Sydney Football Stadium! Perhaps we should put things into perspective and remember that the league is still four months from kicking off, before we talk about the club changing venues or filling Stadium Australia (80,0000?! C'mon!).

Okay...I admit that eight hundred thousand might have been a slightly high attendance figure. ;D

Has to be Aussie Stadium ! We can't play at a ground that looks like a Park with a Stand (SHED) on the Side ! Leave those ground to the Shit Like Sydney Utd and that 3rd rate Park football competion. NSL. Sydney FC are Team for a Big City. So we need a ground that looks the part. not something the looks like a SHED in a PARK in the inner west. Loz "SSS" "Like it or Not" I realise that across Europe's biggest football clubs, their home stadium is in the centre of the city. Stade de Parra is shite and even Man Utd couldn't get 80,000 bums on seats every week so thinking about Staduim Australia is right out of the window. The SFS is going to be a great home ground for me. I either have to drive three hours or fly to the games. Aussie stadium is straight up the M5 and it's close to the airport... perfect. Thanks to the SFC my frequent flyers will go through the roof!

I have always been a fan of Concord oval cause its a good size. Just off the M4 and Parra road.
Aussie Stadium is the best bet for now. But I think a purpose built 25,000 seat stadium is the way to go for the future.
Hopefully they will redevelop St George Stadium. Only 10mins away from Aussie so no a bad spot. Parking should be ok there considering the amount of land they have.
Somewhere out west wont happen. Parra Stadium will be saved for the West Sydney team when it comes out.
