i STILL LIKE MY SUGGESTION SYDNEY ARMADA It's better than 'The Push'...how gay is that? Besides, there's already been TWO notorious Sydney groups called 'The Push". A third time is over-doing it.

Greets to all. I've come across your forum and i'm really looking forward to this new a-league. I was reading some of the posts about a name for ur mob and i couldnt help but laugh when i heard of the sydney push. Seriously guys i cannot believe u are taking 'the push' seriously, that is the most lamest name for a supporters group i have ever heard of. You guys should try to think of something that is 'hard, tough', something that will send a shiver down the opposing firms spine. Here are a few examples, leeds service crew, inter city firm, headhunters, frontline just to name a few. Anyway i've added my 2 cents, cheers.
ps: Any real ones out there?

You're the one who objected to the use of Push because of its gang name history, I was just pointing out that ultras has exactly the same, if not worse, links, how can you object to push on that basis and not object to ultras. Thank you for proving my point for me. Popularity is a crappy basis for making a choice like that, hundreds of millions of people watch American, Australian,Armenian & anywhere else Idol, its probably the most popular tv show in the world, but its still fake bullshit and its poplularity doesn't make it quality TV. PS if you want people to stop talking about ethinc bullshit in football to you, you should take the first step by changing your name. PPS your excuse that the police were somehow to blame for the United/Bonnyrigg ethinc violence is bullshit, they didn't start the fighting, they didn't provoke anyone and they certainly didn't start all this shite. ok so then both have a shitty history to it..but like u said earlier not all ultras can be brought back to having a bad history and being hooligans n shit..u even said urself that there r some of them that are good..but did u not c that i said that having that name will put us in the right direction..having good tifo's..banners..chants..other ultras from the world can look at us too and be proud..but anyways this isnt going to end either way..i already put my vote in and im not deciding what the name is..its the peoples choice but whatever goes..goes i guess

Conrad, it's a name for a scarfer supporter group, not a firm, I seriously doubt that there will be any dressers running around dishing out slaps.
nuff said.

Granted. scarfer or firm the name 'push' has no place in football, sounds like a name for a lame a** american football team. Old and traditional is the go. jubal1 i'm sure there'll be a few around this season.. cheers

well the push is old and traditional and associates us with sydney. ultras is a movement and style of supporting not an official name, it represents the style that the supporters use and it came from italy, so unless ur prepared to light flares, have outstanding choreography then leave it. as for the other sujestion pls send them to the mods in a prvt msg so they can upload them.that way we're all gonna be happy with the outcome. firm, crew, union are of english origin and i did sujest a name like that a while ago but came under fire by most people here because it reminded them of hooliganism. and lastly "supporters sydney fc" well hey everyone who supports sydney at the sfs is known by that, the whole idea of the name is to stand out as a group of fanatical or passionate supporters. cheers

those last 2 posts have given me another idea..which takes away the "bad rep" of both names that we have been argueing over..
"The Blue Firm" ..beautiful..simple..elegant and no bad ties to any gangs or hooligans
