The problem with Sydney is there is no real sporting culture. All the citizens of this lonely city only support a team if it winning and people are not inclined to attend games live. They are more the armchair sporting types. Sydney sports goers don't tend to wear much in the way of colours and sit on their chairs and clap occasionally, and usually leave 10 minutes before the end of the game to go and buy a latte, even if it is a close game. And Sydney FC will find it much too difficult to get the Croations, Greeks and Italians to work together and play together, and I tip the regular on field brawl, with players from the Sydney FC beating each other up. And what sort of name is FC anyway? Talk about zero creativity. They are my tip for the wooden sthingyers. Sydney FC seems pretty much spot on as a name to me. What would you prefer, Sydney Victory? Thank god i dont live in melbourne.

With Lowe's son as a main shareholder, it looks as though Sydney FC will be the AC Milan of the A-League, (i.e receiving favours from the refs whenever they are needed)
;D

I've hardly heard a person complain about our clubs name. Imagine supporting the 'mariners'? LOL
When the clubs admin gets up and running, we should perhaps put in a 'no-confdence' letter to the club in regards to Zelic. Let them know how we feel about it.

Agreed Robbie.....Historically he has done pretty well at Wollongong and Parramatta during the NSL so I think Nick T would be a good choice. What did he do good at Parramatta? Was given arguably the greatest squad in NSL history and couldn't win the championship. Plus he has a huge ego....not looking good if has to coach similarly minded players, ie Zelic. Anyway, don't mind me....I'm still bitter about 2000.

did well with wollongong to win from 3-0 down.....
Culina is the ideal coach, we had him at Olympic awhile back and we played the best football I have seen them play for years, we had a top squad, we even pumped Sth Melbourne 6-0....
poor performnace by players I wont name in semi with Carlton cost us everything...

I would prefer Cullina over Nick T. Nick T is just way to arrogant. Gets players offside, annoys people etc.

Who cares if we come last? There won't be any relegation.

I'd prefer Culina as well.
IMO he is an excellent coach - I can't believe he couldn't get a job overseas.

can't understand why opposing fans would see anythng wrong with that? ;D ;D ;D It's different when you follow another team in the Serie A, like myself and Ned. The corruption stems throughout.

I think Sydney FC is a wikked name yeah. . It gives the team that international & proffesional feel to it!!
I have to agree though on the crowd support. . I went to quite a few parra power games and 90% of the crowd would sit around and barely managing the odd clap every now and again. . . I don't tottaly blame the indivual supporter for this because I know that there arent many people who would enjoy standing on their feet for the full 90minutes, screaming their head off whilst everyone around them sits in silence scorning at the loud mouth brute shouting like a hooligan.. Though I must admit I wasn't very boisterous at the games I attended as my old man was the only person I could get to goto the games with me. haha I'm realy looking forward to trying my best to change this general attitude of the supporter.... The more of us screaming and yelling the more ppl will feel that they can join in..
my rant for the evening.. matt..
