Oh, a "close associate" said "I know there are critics of Dwight who are questioning his level of commitmt but I can assure you he wants to do well for Sydney. He's in wonderful shape at the memnt. Dwight is a laidback character but he never lets himself go. In the gym, he trains 10 times harder than any teammate and he cant wait to begin his career in Sydney." mmm as a close friend of one of Birminghams players thats not what I have heard. He is perfectly happy to collect his £20,000.00 a week and just sit in the gym without any regard for football or his team mates. Good Luck SFC ;D

y is it when u always read about a new signing or something they always say that the player trains "twice as hard than anyone else" its becoming a meaningless comment now..

Yorke Anxious For Sydney Start 19/05/05 He's heading to a club which carries the same name as his God daughter, Sydney whose father is none other than his close pal West Indian batsman Brian Lara. Added to that, Lara also struck a memorable 277 against Australia in Sydney and that by itself seems to be making National Team captain Dwight Yorke excited over the start of a new two-year deal with Australian professional club Sydney FC. Yorke revealed on Monday that he had signed a two-year deal via fax with the option of extending by a year and he believes that apart from rejoining the national team, the move to Sydney could add some further spark to his career. 'I want to be playing for another two years or so which I can believe I can do and I made the decision to move to Sydney because I think it's a great challenge for me at this stage, more like a new chapter in my life and I'm really looking forward to it. I was also very happy about the negotiations and I can't wait to begin the season in August,' said Yorke who also touched on his commitment to the 'Warriors' after making it back just after midday from Tobago on Monday following a meeting with Tobago House of Assembly Chairman Orville London in order to join the team for a 4pm training session. 'It's important that if I am going to be the leader of the team then it's vital that I lead from example and as much as my commitment is also elsewhere I also have to ensure that I do the right thing for the national team. Personally I will like to continue in this light and it's all about being professional at the end of the day and if I didn't feel this way then I wouldn't be here today.' by Shaun Fuentes www.soccer365.com/US_NEWS/Breaking_News/page_131_98207.shtml
