I think there are too many blue-based sides in the comp and Sydney should try something different. I know most of you would hate any association with the Swans, but I still reckon it's better than every second side being some form of blue. Bear in mind those that the official flag of the city of Sydney is a white flag with the St George cross with yellow stars in it and a really cool Endeavour in the top corner. I think it is flying from the town hall at the moment! Like Macca, I'm biased. Would personally prefer not light blue though. Would look like an Olympic volunteer Or even worse, a frigging TSV 1859 Muenchen fan! . ICK!!!!! A brilliant royal blue home strip would appeal, that's for sure. Or maybe the colours of the city, royal blue and gold. We are SYDNEY'S TEAM, NOT NSW'S TEAM. I wonder if teams are using softer colours so that people will want to buy team apparal. The Glory are just lucky they have the Freo Dockers wearing even worse colours in WA. But yeah, full marks to them for at least being distinctive, I guess. JF

According to flagspot.net/flags/au-ns-sy.htmlThis is the Sydney flag: and this is the greater Sydney flag: But you have an excellent point Julian, SFC is about Sydney not NSW. brilliant royal blue home strip would appeal, that's for sure. Or maybe the colours of the city, royal blue and gold. We are SYDNEY'S TEAM, NOT NSW'S TEAM. Royal blue and gold would be great, with perhaps red & white away? T

I like the Melb uniform especially the away kit (white one). Its got some symbolism going on their with the 'V' and looks good.
The layout and colours of their away kit would've been a good Sydney FC kit to.

Maybe its just me. But I dont like red. especially red and white. Maybe Black and blue? As win we'll beat 'em black and blue!! ;D Red is a very strong 'marketing' colour... and it goes well with white. These two colours are used by prominent sporting and corporate organisations the world over.

Please no red. It's bad enough having 'Thomson' in red on my Spurs shirt.

Hey guys,
I think that whoever the kit supplier is will have a big say in the strip. They will probably only have certain styles to choose from so nothing is set in concrete.
Apart from the fact that we'll be there in loud voice supporting the mighty Sydney FC!

I wouldn't want one of those Sydney FC jerseys for free. Very boring and unimaginative, and not very menacing, just like their side will play I presume.
It's interesting as well that people are saying that this is Sydney's team, and not NSW's team. Isn't "Soccer NSW" the main body running the team? Won't the stakeholders of Soccer NSW (players, coaches, referees, anyone at all that pays some kind of fee to the donkeys that run Soccer NSW and Sydney FC) be contributing to this Sydney team?
I think either Soccer NSW should change their name to "Soccer Sydney", or people could get a little confused. Not to mention the fact that people playing the game out the back of Bourke for example, under the "Soccer NSW" banner would feel mighty peeved that they're paying fees to an organisation whose team they logistically can't watch live, and most likely not even on pay tv either.
Sydney FC seems to me that it's all about the bigshots screwing the grassroots, and also the "city" screwing the "country" again.

evreything you written hassler has been negative..but those are your opinions...and you have a right to a opinion...and i dont think soccer nsw has a big say in the club because the team is called SYDNEY FC...not NSW FC...and all the juniors play in sydney...with most teams, players, clubs, refs etc.

I think you're having trouble seeing the wood for the trees sydneyfc04. I'm not talking about SydneyFC juniors. I mean EVERYONE playing in an associated competition under the Soccer NSW banner. These competitions are proudly listed on the SoccerNSW website- www.soccernsw.com.au/comps/It doesn't matter what the team's called either- you have to read the fine print, and get the lowdown on who's involved in the team, etc, and that's what I've been doing. Hence my negativity towards SydneyFC. I've long played under the SoccerNSW banner in many different competitions (and quite begrudgingly still do), yet have seen the quality of their product* drop year after year, while their fees keep rising *(ie what you get for your rego fees, etc, not the standard of play). For example, when Soccer NSW say their bid is all about bringing the "grassroots" and the "bigtime" closer, why is it they can pump all this money and resources into an A-League side, run an 18 team state league, yet can't recruit/provide enough referees for the grassroots players in the grassroots teams in the grassroots competitions?..... Not having a go at you mate, because you seem pretty young, I'm just trying to enlighten you a bit regarding my opinions.
