Just a small thing, I have watched football games in four countries and have yet to encounter "beer chucking" in any but for this one. This itself seems to be a development of the unique Aussie fan identity you're asking for Blues. Funnily enough Ive only experienced it in a small number of games in other codes which were quashed straight away for fear of losing fans. I know passion and atmosphere has to be there but there is a limit. Remember the league want packed stadiums for this comp. It wont happen if it is taken to far.

What's the capacity of the SFS? 42,000? Surely we can find a section away from the Mums and Dads where one can hurl a bit of amber nectar in celebration and freely speculate on the parentage of the Melbourne Victory players using some colourful language, without excessive amounts of sooking. It's not like it's going to be filled to capacity every week anyway. If the club was clever they'd reserve a section, behind the goals, for this express purpose. It's been done before. Mums and Dad's can sit on the sides of the ground where little Johnny in his Harry Kewell shirt, won't be able to hear what we're calling Bobby Despotovski. Everybody's happy.

Good Point, the negative opportunity of hooligans and crowd trouble can't be even given the opportunity to rise it's head in the media. Any form of bad crowd behavior and it will get in the news before the games result. Look at the bulldog fiasco, parents of opposing teams won't go to the Bulldog matches as they can't guarantee safety for their children. I'm sure the leader of the SydneyFC supporters group will have this sorted before and throughout the season. I'd like SydneyFC to be known for it's friendly and entertaining atmosphere and good football, not crowd trouble. Sydney FC have been pushing it's positive family attitude with it's logo. As fans we should support it.

You dont get it do you Its exactly that behaviour that is the reason we didnt sell out the stadium for the final of the Oceania Region. Can you imagine any other region not being sold out for their final?

Singing and celebrating is "acting up"? What exactly do you do at a football game Blues? Link arms and sing "Kumbaya" with your mates and sell Boy Scout cookies and help little old ladies across the road at half time? What I'm talking about is the sort of fan behaviour shown all over the world by almost everybody and the sort of behaviour that pales into insignificance next to what the drooling Neanderthals in the Bulldogs Army get up to. I'm not talking about smashing seats and storming the pitch here mate. The segregation of fan groups will help in this as well. If the nasty swear words bother you Blues, you can sit somewhere else with your thermos of tea. Again, everybody's happy.

I have never said no singing chanting and the like. My main point is that with certain aspects that are being pushed here that the media will get hold of it and soccer will be back to square one again. No crowds or mainstream media support. Thats all. Not arguing about the fun aspect. And as for the tea thermos.. nice try. Already stated my tastes for bear (which is why I wouldnt waste it hurling it somewhere.)

Ahhh ok yes been to a few. I'll admit not as many as probably allot (or most ) on this board. But in some ways Im looking from the outside in which is what this club/competition is trying to get people to do. new fans or in my case make me more of a fan.
