Hi all!
The first ever edition of 'There's Only One FC' fanzine is available now. Dedicated entirely to Sydney FC, this month's edition includes
- a feature on why the 'zine is called what it's called - a profile of Sydney FC coach Pierre Littbarski - thoughts on naming 'Bay 23' - a review of the Australian CWC qualifying tournament
and much more! Well, actually...there's not a lot more. In fact, that's it, really. But if you can't get enough poorly taken photographs and dodgy MS Word skills then act fast, this month's edition has a limited run and should be selling like hotcakes on ebay, come August.
IF YOU'D LIKE A COPY, PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL WITH YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS TO toofc@hotmail.com AND A 'ZINE WILL BE SENT OUT TO YOU ON MONDAY.
Thanks!

the name is, to sum up the opening paragraph of the fanzine, more about the ridiculous nature of the american style names that some clubs have opted for (ie Victory and Roar) with Sydney having the only traditional name.
If anyone is interested in a copy of this, and believe me it's a good read, let me know and I'll bring some along to the meeting on Friday night.
Support for the club shouldn't stop outside the stadium.

Got mine! Congratulations to whoever got off their årse to do this. I hope this is the first of many. I was pleased to see that in the finest traditions of football fanzines, production quality is minimal. All fanzines should be photocopied and unstapled!
Nice one.

At least it isn't named after a gymnastics club mate. DER GRUENWAELDER BRENNT! JF

It really shits me when people on this forum refer to the club as 'FC' (even one of the sections is called that. FC doesn't denote Sydney Football Club at all, rather it can mean any one of the thousands of teams in the world which have 'Football Club' in their name. So, stick to calling them Sydney, Sydney FC or SFC for short.

Unfortunately due to work commitments, I won't be able to make tomorrow's supporters meeting at Bar Cleveland. However there will be FIFTEEN copies of There's Only One FC available on the night. If you're interested in grabbing a copy and you haven't already ordered one, then please ask Rieper tomorrow night and he'll be able to sort you out. Copies are fast running out, so if you'd like one then please let me know as soon as possible, as work will soon be commencing on the July edition.
Thanks!

Great work getting the fanzine out, although there are EIGHT FC's (in the A-League) - the reason theres no "American style" name is because you lot in Sydney obviously have a little trouble coming up with stuff like that..
Its not limited to American sports anyway, what about:
Arsenal Gunners Aston Villa Villains Brighton Seagulls Chelsea Blues Crystal Palace Eagles Derby County Rams Everton Toffees Fulham Cottagers Ipswich Town Tractor Boys Leeds Utd. Peathingys Leicester City Foxes Millwall Lions Manchester City Citizens Manchester Utd. Red Devils Middlesborough Boro Newcastle Utd. Magpies Norwich City Canaries Plymouth Pilgrims Sheffield Utd. Blades Southampton Saints Sunderland Black Cats Tottenham Hotspur Spurs Watford Hornets West Ham Hammers Wimbledon Crazy Gang Wolverhampton Wolves
and...
Adelaide Crows Brisbane Lions Carlton Blues Collingwood Magpies Essendon Bombers Fremantle Dockers Geelong Cats Hawthorn Hawks North Melbourne Kangaroos Melbourne Demons Port Adelaide Power Richmond Tigers St. Kilda Saints Sydney Swans Western Bulldogs West Coast Eagles
... and...
Brisbane Broncos Canterbury Bulldogs Canberra Raiders Manly Sea Eagles Melbourne Storm Newcastle Knights New Zealand Warriors North Queensland Cowboys Parramatta Eels Penrith Panthers Cronulla Sharks South Sydney Rabbitohs St.George-Illawarra Dragons Sydney Roosters Wests Tigers
.... and theeeeen.....
Adelaide United FC Central Coast Mariners FC Melbourne Victory FC New Zealand Knights FC Newcastle United FC (Jets) Perth Glory FC Queensland Roar FC Sydney _¸,ø¤°`°¤ø bling ø¤°`°¤ø,¸_ FC
All the above teams are football clubs (in whatever code..) and therefore can use the initials "FC" after their name.. and I tell ya what it's gonna be a boring season if there's only one football club! Who are ya gonna play??
