Sydney's starting XI has been named for tomorrows clash with Tafea Clint Bolton (gk), Iain Fyfe, Alvin Ceccoli, Ufuk Talay, Robbie Middleby, Matthew Bingley, David Zdrilic, Saso Petrovski, David Carney, Andrew Packer and Terry McFlynn.
Surely Bingley, Ceccoli and Fyfe are getting a bit tired now?

very interesting formnation. Seems as thugh wel shall be soaking up the initial pressure untill say the 60th minute and thats when mcFlyn will be replaced by corica who will then start zipping around the tired opposition. Sound formation with our two central midfielders being played defensive.

I expect Littbarski will keep Carney on for the full 90 minutes as he is in dire need of a tan

The good old days of 2-3-5. These modern kids with their fancy formations, I dunno. Give them hobnail boots as well. Never did us any harm. Teach them fuzzy wuzzies a thing or two...

Sounds good to me. I think Ceccoli will once again be pressing forward on his runs, he is sooo dangerous when he does that.

Maybe Bolton should be given a rest, not that it's really required but to see how the reserve GK can communicate and work with the back four.

A 2-3-5 formation.
Its good to see that Littbarski is still respecting the opposition...

Just thought, do you remember the balck ankle high boots with the yellow stripes from K-Mart up till about 1985? The size of the things! Scare the kiddies these days! Of course, all boots where black back in those days, none of this namby pampy silver and white Oxford St wear! And red? How can you give an oppo player a good stomping in red boots?

I still havent been totally impressed with mcflynn (or talay to a lesser degree). Surely corica walks all over this fellow.

A 2-3-5 formation. Its good to see that Littbarski is still respecting the opposition... that's the classic under 6s formation of ten years ago two defenders on each end of the penalty box who cannot move unless the ball comes their way three midfielders who play everywhere number 7 & 11 to play wingers and three strikers the good ole days

the 2-3-5 was used here from as early as 1888, I learnt it in the 1980s. I like attacking football.
