I thought a thread on the stadiums of the A-League could be good. Starting in the West Perth Glory - Members Equity Stadium 18,450

Melbourne 'Tards - unknown unknown The tards could play at the 14,000 Bob Jane Stadium but I really doubt South melbourne would let them. They could also go with Olympic Park - 20,000 - with it's stunning 1950's buildings! Don't forget the the running track Anothern option would be Docklands and it's 56,347 seats. Downsides here include the online rumour that the stands can no longer be re-configured for rectangular sports. Another major problem would be getting the residents of the self proclaimed "Sports captial of the world" to actually attend the football games.

Those are some nice photos there, Tancred. My verdict on the various grounds: Members Equity-Nice little ground, even if it isn't particuarly pleasing aesthetically. Good size, close in, and room for expansion should the need arise. What's wtih the terrace though? Hindmarsh-Awesome little footy ground. Reminds me of a modern English stadium, albeit a fairly small one. small but expansion looks entirely possible. Suncorp-Undoubtably a fantastic ground for big events but it's massive size means that unless the Lions can pull regular 20,000+ crowds (which seems unlikely in the first few years) it's gonna seem pretty empty for the A-League. Central Coast-A little bit no-frills but seems like an average all round ground. Won't seem empty in the bad times but room for reasonable crowds (given the comparitively small population of the central coast) in the good. Also a bonus that the mariners get it all to themselves. Energy Australia-A bit like central coast. A suitable ground in all areas-not amazing in any way but nothing to complain about (except that the Knights might leave the pitch a bit beat up). North Harbour-Along with Hindmarsh I reckon this is the best ground in the league. It's very appealing visually, pitch is the right shape and size is just right for an NZ team. SFS-Hard to decide. Looks gread, heaps of undercover seats (something not many stadiums in the league seem to have) but although it's not as big as Suncorp i doubt we'll be pulling too many 40,000 crowds in our first few years. Luckily it's a very atmospheric ground, which meaning that crowds in the area of 20,000 give the impression that the ground is virtually full. So in that way we should be able to cheat an atmosphere out of it ;D Just keep your voices up at the games to make sure eh? As for Melbourne, well they're in a bit of a shambles to be honest All of those stadiums seem distinctly unsuitable in their own little ways, so unless the Vic government is willing to fork out for an upgrade of Olympic park i can see them occupying the worst ground in the league.

Just a couple of things on the NSW grounds.
Express advocate std Central coast: This is actually quite a good ground, new facilities make it comfortable and there is a view from everywhere ! The only down side is that the southern end has no stands or hill, it's basically off limits to supporters, the road is just over the fence as well.
Energy Australia Std Newcastle: A Shithole !!!!! thats my personal opinion, and i doubt anything will change in the near future !
SFS: Oh how i love this ground, home to my beloved roosters and Sydney FC !!!!!! nothing more needs to be said !
