What Australia should do is arrange a large training squad to get together once a week for 2 hours. Then instead of training, they can divide the squad into a first and seconds team and play against each other. The only thing is not to publicise the game and just calll it a light training session, so players are not pulled out. The only possibility that we will meet a team that has less time together than Australia, is if Brazil decide to run their world cup qualifiers player supermarket again. This is where Brazil selects any players that have not got a lucrative european deal, plays them until they get sold, then selects someone else to take their place. Then they get in trouble and almost miss out on qualifying, which means Australia would then have to face a full strength Brazil to qualify

once a week? are u joking? its hard enough to get players 1 every 2 months, and u want players to come to training once a week? it works nice in theory.... but couldnt, and wont happen

The only thing is not to publicise the game and just calll it a light training session, so players are not pulled out. It won't take long for the clubs to work that out. I don't think we even have enough depth for an Australia B. The quality depth in our squad is for a seperate topic all together.

Hopefully with the A-League we can start getting some depth.. Although whenever we play against regional countries we seem to play our b or even in some cases our d side.

I believe that it is good in theory, but you cant be serious in expecting them to go to a training match every week, they have their club commitments as well. Maybe a few years down the track when the A League takes off, Australia will have a lot more players to chose from playing first grade football.

pehaps it should be advertised as as a wild party instead of a training session. No one need know including the players till it was too late. The only problem is that you would suddenly have 50 or so other top European players trying to gate crash it.
