After reading the thread about the Aus V Norway game. It got me thinking, what is IYO australia's best starting 11 when everyones fit. And what formation would you use if you managed the NT.
For me I cant really call the best starting 11. But I'd play a 4-4-2. Have Kewell playing on the left or the right midfield (where he belongs). I'd probably team Dukes with someone from the local scene maybe Milicic(he looked especially good against tukey) and ofcourse cahill, emerton, lucas, moore, grella and braciano would be top of the pile.

I would like to see us try something a little different. Maybe a 5-2-3. A back 3 (Moore, Popovic and ?), 2 wing-backs (Niell and Lazaridis), 2 midfield (Bresiano and Emerton), 3 upfront (Aloisi and Viduka with Kewell back behind them a little)
Its a very attack minded team, but u do have to play to your strengths.
That leave Cahill and Grella for the bench if you need to switch to a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3.

Aloisi-Viduka Bresciano-Cahill-Grella-Emerton Lazaridis-Moore-Kisnorbo-Neill Schwarzer
A pretty obvious, very balanced team really. Kisnorbo gets the nod because if you ask me it probably is time for a generational change at the back for Australia. He is playing reguarly and by all reports well for Hearts and there's no reason why he shouldn't get the nod. Kewell's inclusion cannot be justified given the great form of Cahill, Skoko and Bresciano in Midfiled and Aloisi upfront and his current inability to produce anything bar the occasional classy dribble.

I agree with Kisnorbo's inclusion (Vidmar is too old and too slow now) but no Kewell!!! He'd be filthy with Farina if that happened!

If kewell doesnt live up to he's promise of picking up he's act for Australia then he should be dropped from the side. Farina has a tendency to base to much of our play around him which would be fair enough if he bloody played a decent amount of games for australia so the team could gell a bit. I mean sometimes its like theres our NT and then there's kewell a stranger playing with new team-mates for the first time. We are capable of beating most sides and very capable of pulling off upsets against the best. But for me right now we dont fulfill our potential.

Yes, I 100% agree with the idea of blooding a new defender or 2. Australia was known for itz great defender capability but our old skool defenders are getting on in years, and while we still have a few with a year or 2 left in them, I think we should include a few of our under 21's like Jade North maybe and blood them and give some experience with the big guns.

Jade North is a really good player but needs more experience, in a few years he should be a great player.
