"SBS is understood to have agreed to pay $1.5 million in a two-year deal that guarantees live coverage of all 16 Socceroo games leading up to the 2006 World Cup. " Is this really enough?

The money is not what matters, it's the coverage.
Channel 7 should never get football again and I doubt 9 or 10 have room for more sport. SBS will not fill the games with ads, will provide excellent coverage and work for the good of the game.

Yeah, the free-to-air coverage is really important, espically if the game of football is to grow in Australia.

Perhaps I didnt properly explain my point. I wasnt refering to the money although thats a good point to.
I was asking weather these are enough games to be played if we expect to qualify for the WC?

The world cup is only 18 months away and the playoff only 12 months. If we did qualify that equates to almost one game every month. I think its definately enough, it just depends on the quality of the opposition and the ability to get the full squad together.

True thats a good idea, but we should vs a variety of top nations. Not just the european ones, the likes of Argentina, Brazil, Korea, Japan and Nigeria would all be awesome games for the NT as well as for us to watch.
