Will be on Monday the 15th of November at St Andrews Cathederal. Hope every1 gets there!
p.s. Ive always been a believer of funerals being positve affairs. Obviously there will always be lots of grief, but it is always nice to go to a funeral that is like a celebration of the persons life rather than a depressing affair. I was considering taking some big Green and Gold flags (the ones in the GGArmy bay at the Solomons game) to wave outside at the appropriate times.
What do you guys think of this idea? I was going to call Les Murray and ask him what he thought, being a great friend of Johny and all.

Not sure how some people would take the banners at a funeral. . If you could get in contact with Les and ask him then by all means do it!
Personally, I don't mind the idea at all. It is most definately something that he loved(football) and was how most of us saw him... as an aussie footballing icon.

Les said that it would be a great idea and he's sure Johny would want it not to be a sombre affair. So guys, wear your aussie shirts and scarfs, bring a few flags and banners for outside the church!

Guys,
What a good turnout, I managed to sneak in you could say. Inside St Andrews it was only open to invited family and friends and you had to get your name marked off a list before entering.
When It was my chance to prove my identity I just said I'm not on the list and was willing to stand - I wasn't the only one. There were a few others. We ended up waiting 45mins outside the church doors just to get inside even if it meant standing up.
It was a well organised funeral, tribute speakers included Les Murray, John Singleton, George Harris (who is he ?) and someone else who's name escapes me atm.
The most moving moment for me was the video tribute of "You'll never walk alone" being a Liverpool supporter it was very moving it was also the moment most ppl had to fight back tears.
It surprised me that ex SBS colleague's didn't even get good seats. Kyle P and Robbie Slater were towards the right back of the congregation. Robbie Slater gave up his seat for an elderly man.
There was this guy who had brown pants and black shirt on and an Olympic scarf wrapped around him. Is he the same Olympic fan on this list?
Rest in Peace Johnny

Glad to hear you got inside Robbie. I wondered how many people they would let in. I listened from outside, and was very glad to see a large crowd there. I think Johnny would have been proud with the size of the event. Many radio stations were in the crowd as well.
