Sydney FC have passed on the chance to sign former Socceroo skipper Paul Okon ,Belgian-based Okon,32 wanted a three year deal with the fledging outfit.

they said no to okon? maybe he wanted too much? but geez, okon, if fit is a very good choice imo

I'm glad in a way they turned him down. They say he wanted a 3 year contract, he's good to have around but I think SFC can do better than that. He couldn't get in Watfords team.

He'll be 35 in his last year of his contract.....they could have two or three quality young players for the same price with twice the pace and freshness. Okon was once quality but age is against him.

Could not of said it any better myself. Hopefully we will be looking for someone who is as well known but a little less heavy on the age side

If Milicic cost Newcastle $250,000 (he's also 31 I think), I'd hate to think what his agent wants for Okon ... I am told they have the same agent - can someone confirm this

farken hell, as some1 else said; if they passed on OKon they must hae some good players lined up. IMO Okon would have been the perfect captain for Sydney FC.

He would mostly get attention as he was our last skipper in the last WC stage. Maybe SydneyFC are playing hard to get and only want him for two years ?
