Duo praise Henderson SBS www3.sbs.com.au/home/index.php3?id=54320Former Northern Spirit goalkeeper Paul Henderson has been praised by both managers following Bradford City's 2-2 draw at League One rival Barnsley. The Bantams led 2-0 in a match shown live on TV in England, and although Henderson was then beaten twice as Barnsley fought back to snatch a draw, his impressive performance was the main talking point afterwards. "He was magnificent all through the game and certainly kept them in it in the second half," Barnsley boss Paul Hart told the Telegraph and Argus of the Bantams goalkeeper. Bradford City boss Colin Todd - who has preferred Henderson to Jamaica goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts this season - agreed. "Paul made some great saves but then he's had an outstanding season. People are just beginning to recognise him now as a very good goalkeeper."

No Forest bid for 'Hendo' SBS
Bradford City boss Colin Todd has dismissed reports that former Northern Spirit goalkeeper Paul Henderson is set to move to Coca-Cola Championship outfit Nottingham Forest.
Henderson has been a star for the Bantams this season, keeping Jamaica international Donovan Ricketts out of the side, and reports in England suggest that new Forest boss Gary Megson is set to bid around GBP250,000 (AUS600,000) for the crowd favourite.
But Todd told his side's official website that he has had no contact with Forest.
"I have no idea where these rumours are coming from," Todd said. "I can only presume somebody is going round putting his [Henderson's] name about but I can categorically confirm that I have not spoken with anybody from Nottingham Forest or anybody connected with the club about the lad."

he was an average nsl keeper at best
clint bolton is 10 times what he'll ever be

Is that why he's playing in the UK and Bolton is still here? I would say that they are both excellent keepers! Having played with Hendo and against Bolton a few times then i can safley say they are both quality!!!

If Spirit didn't have Hendo in the last nsl season they would have been wooden sthingyers for sure ! ! Though hendo did provide some entertaing keeping, anyone who attended the Spirit vs Shenzen Jianlibao game at rat park will attest to that.........

If big clubs like Villa really want someone they will do what it takes, this means that if Bolton is as good as you say then Villa would have done what ever it was needed to sign him... I'll say it again having PLAYED with Hendo i can safely say he is with out a doubt a class act!!!!!!!!! Keepers can't stop everything and sometimes mate the defence is to blame, i think maybe your a bit jealous

Keepers can't stop everything and sometimes mate the defence is to blame, i think maybe your a bit jealous you're first comment is wrong. working visas can't be obtained merely by twisting someone's arm- their's actually legal implications....the very same thing happened to hayden foxe a few years ago hendo may have been a class act in the nswpl in 1996 when he was playing for sutherland but the nswpl in those days was absolute trash. i'd expect him to be a different class in those days...it's pretty obvious that he would have been but at the nsl level he was hopeless!! he never won anything, spirit made the finals twice...bolton was capped, he played in 4 grand finals winning 2 (including 3 in a row), he is in the current socceroos squad...where's hendo? i'm glad that bolton is here and will play for us, he is the best keeper in australia over the last 5 yrs bar none . hendo left because he knew he was never a chance in the a-league 'keepers can't stop everything'? hendo didn't stop ANYTHING!!!! he let in so many soft goals it was embarassing

sorry sunshine you are wrong, I am telling you they can be obtained behind closed doors so to speak IF THE BIG CLUBS WANT SOMEONE BAD ENOUGH THEY WILL GET THEM FULL STOP!!!!!
I didn't play with him back in 96 and for the record he came into the NSL scene as an unknown and if I remeber correctly kept Perosh out from day one at spirit until the death he was their no 1 choice and now he is doing the same thing at Bradford who a few years back were playing in the most exciting league in the world and to be getting "praise" from the british media and respected managers is a great acheivement!!!!
Don't get me wrong Bolton is all class but Hendo is also a quality keeper who would of been snapped up by the Mariners no doubt if he didn't go to England, and just quietly the english league one which Hendo plays in is a hell of a lot better than what the A- League will be so good on Hendo, enough said!!!!!!!!!

In all honesty based on what you have seen in the last 5 yrs in Australian soccer who is better Bolton or Hendo?

the a-league hasn't even started....that's a strange comment to make, not based on any facts whatsoever

Having watched him for spirit since 1998, I believe him to be a good keeper. I would say his main weakness was coming for crosses. He was always brave but occasionally misjudged them. His strength would be shot stopping.
Carry on.
