Yep, your right! I reckon what's happened is due to Soccer NSW only having a 25% stakehold in the new club, they've decided to concentrate on the running of Soccer NSW. I'd say once Sydney FC's front office is complete they will take a strategic role in the new club.

Soccer NSW belong on the sides. They've done a geat job this far, but it doesn't make sense having all the resources of the ass. going into a pro club. This way they can keep developing and be in charge of that side of things, while pple with more money and possibly more business accumen run the show.

Imagine if SNSW were sole owners, and one day down the track (knock on wood) Sydney FC went bankrupt, then that could cause SNSW to be in financial troubles, which means the whole state of NSW suffers...Like John Oneil said, he "didn't want a club bringing a sate federation to its knees"...makes sense if u ask me.

Also down the track is expansion. How to bring in a 2nd Sydney team if it is in opposition to its own federation.

The main reason SoccerNSW is involved in SydneyFC is to bridge the gap between the club and the youth/seniors who play football in NSW. They want a connection from the people who play the sport to the people who will run it at a fully proffesional level. Also probably to pick out potential stars from the state league and sign them up to the club. Its great if you ask me, it means alot of the players in time to come who will represent SydneyFC will be from NSW.
