It wont be hard, the first few games we'll just use fairly generic songs/chants that are well known. Hopefully further into the season we can get some original stuff happening.

I think the main thing to remember is that it's a football team not a basketball team - so no "let's go Sydney, let's go!" argh

Plenty of people know generic football songs, so i think we will be fine! We need to think up a slow song though unique to our team. Something like "Youll never walk alone" for Liverpool, or "We are one" for the Socceroos.

Maybe when the laague kicks off we see what's in the Top 10 of the charts and begin to start ripping the lyrics off with our own.
For the mean time we should use a real popular song that everyone knows and re-do that.
Maybe re-doing men at work - "land downunder"

Nah that wouldnt work without music. You need a slow song that you can sing without music. Somehting that you sing towards the end of a game as a kind of mellow victory chant.

Second that REM option! Would be good to have another one that mentions sydney though. There's a cheezy old slow jazz number that some american immigrant wrote and sang decades ago called 'My City of Sydney'. I've only heard it once though and can hardly remember it, and am not really sure if it would be appropriate anyway. Anyone know it?
