NSL, goodbye and good riddance to old soccer. A-League, Football like you've never seen it before. 84 sleeps to go :-) Old loyalties die hard in some people and there will always be a place for teams below the top flight. Look at England 92 league teams and many more Non-league. I would like to eventually see promotion/relegation into the A-league.

I used to follow Sydney City (also known as Hakoah) before Frank Lowy wound them up in the 80s.
Somehow I found myself a refugee at Olympic, due to my coaches at the time having played or worked with them (I'm not Greek). I did go to the occassional Spirit games, but they were never really my team (much as I loved Robbie Slater as a player).
I can categorically say that the A-League is a great way of getting football people along if my experience is typical - I plan on going to every Sydney FC game and becoming fanatical. In the old NSL days, I followed things, but only sometimes went to games, and Liverpool in England were always my first love.

Want to add that there is another Sydney United fan and I am also a Croat. I've been following Sydney United since 1993 and have gone to Melbourne and Brisbane to watch them play in the finals.
Nevertheless, I am looking forward to the new A-League and will follow Sydney FC all the way. There are few more Sydney United fans that are interested in supporting Sydney.

Hopefully everyone will use this new A-League to drop all the racist crap. Look how tense the talk about the NSL has been just on this thread.
