Do I sense some jealousy? Hey, good luck to Wigan; it's always good to see an underdog making it to the top flight. Also the fact that a minnow like Wigan were promoted ahead of supposed "Lancashire's greatest supported team" - Burnley , makes it a lot sweeter. Although I wont be wishing them too much luck when they play Rovers.

I wouldn't bet on Wigan going straight back down, their chairman is the bloke who owns JJB sports, the biggest sports retailer in the UK and he's already said that he's willing to put 25 Million quid in the pot.
You can build a reasonably good premireship team for that, if you avoid the overpriced superstars.
I reckon that they could stay up for a couple of years if they get a little bit of luck.

Another north-west club in the top division.
Bolton, United, City, Blackburn, Liverpool, Everton, Wigan and very nearly Preston North End all within 50 miles of one another, yet all strong in both a financial and football sense.
