Hello all, how about:
Syd-ney FC: F$$k YEAH!
(Hint, makes more sense once you've seen Team America)
And the great fact we've got a proper name bears repeating, so I took a bit of licence with the original Bright Side of Life song:
Always look on the bright side of life, dadadadadadada Always look on the bright side of life, dadaddadadada! At least we're not called Victory, or even worse the Glory, the Mariners or Lions: what a wank * Coz we came here to play We sent the marketers away So score a goal for Sydney while we sing Always look on the bright side of life, dadaddaddaddadda!"
*or "that's a joke" or "bunch of toss" etc
I'm still working on one for Central Coast, for some reason "Pensioners United" keeps coming to mind ;D

No offence, I should have been more clear in crediting you for it - I was taking licence with YOUR original Bright Side of Life, which is very cool on it's own.
I was trying to make it fit the original song more:
Always look on the bright side of life, lalala If life seems jolly rotten there's something you've forgotten and that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing you'll see it's all a show keep on laughing as you go just remember that the last laugh is on you and always look on the bright side of life

"Mariners or the Lions: id be fuking crying!" goes good
Yeah maybe, just seems too many syllables to fit that line.

I second that! Plenty of people know generic football songs, so i think we will be fine! We need to think up a slow song though unique to our team. Something like "Youll never walk alone" for Liverpool, or "We are one" for the Socceroos. I suppose "You are my Sydney" will suffice in the short term. Wonder if Sydney Fc will think about having a traditional club song. Clubs like Tottenham West Ham (WTF!) Real Madrid and Barca all have club songs. I know I'll annoy people with this comment, but look at the father-to-son ritual tradition of the club song after a win in the AFL. The thing is, please no nothing lame like they do in the NRL. Thoughts? JF

I am rather against the idea of a "club song". It will be very wanky.

It seems to have worked in Perth.
I could be wrong, but I remember in Perth's first ever game, which I was at, they sang their club song and it didn't work.
Probably because they lost, and also noone knew it yet.
But it seems popular these days. I presume it's the same song.
I guess MOTS can probably let us know.

I am rather against the idea of a "club song". It will be very wanky. It doesnt have to be. As long as you find a song that is not too commercial its great to have a club song that every1 sings. Not something you sing all the time, just once a game or something! Its like "We are One" goes off with scarves held up at Aussie matches, you wouldnt want to sing it too much but its good once or twice a game!

Hi All - this is my first post. Better make it a beauty.
I think you`ll never walk alone would be a very bad idea as our main song. Sure we need something slow that can be belted out well, but we need something way more original - and with as few ties to any overseas team as possible.

Aleko, i dont think anyone actually meant we would use "You'll Never Walk Alone", it was just an example of the type of song we need

Aleko, i dont think anyone actually meant we would use "You'll Never Walk Alone", it was just an example of the type of song we need I'd love something distinctly Australian. Does anyone have the words to "Road from Gundagai". I see if I can tweek them a tad. Could be a complete disaster, but asserting a sense of Australianness to the club will win us lots of friends, I reckon. JF
