I know details will be released on Monday, but I heard something on 2UE's sport show last night that Aussie Stadium is the home stadium.
Personally I don't think this is the best decision but I understand there have been some commercial business reasons to choose Aussie Stadium over Parramatta.
Anyone with some inside info?
I believe Parramatta should be chosen as it's more accessible by the main Motorways M4, M2 and soon to be M7 (Orbital) and roads, Parramatta Road and Victoria Road.
It will attract crowds from North West, West, South West and Inner West. Mainly though it will attract families from the nepean region who won't travel to the city for a 90 min game.
The disadvantage at Parramatta is the lack of parking.

I'm not sure what game times are being considered but should games be played Friday nights it makes a great deal of sense to me to be playing at Aussie Stadium, there would be hundreds of thousands of people in the city anyway and I think many would consider staying after work in town to head up to the stadium.
I realise this only considers those working in or close to the city but I suppose what is required in the fledgling competitions inception is bums on seats and I would view this as a good way to get this?
If we are talking Saturday or Sunday games then I still think Aussie is a good option. Most main roads lead to Sydney and public transport certainly has it's hub in Sydney.

$15 parking at the SFS is a big turnoff.
OK for isolated events like Socceroo matches, but every 2nd week is a bit much.

Re Aussie Stadium.
I take on board all the comments about close to the city etc, etc.
I deceided to watch the Aust, solomon Islands game.
Guess what to break downs that night took nearly 1.5 hrs to get to the game from the north side.
I am also bias as I live in the Hills district. But with the Granville Soccer Association being the biggest in NSW.
Parramatta Stadium would be good.
But look what happened to Parra Power.

Generally when there are sporting events on at Aussie there are buses running from central railway station so there is also that opportunity rather than driving.
whichever ground is chosen is going to pose difficulties to some people.
I feel that the decision has to be/has been made based on accessibility via public transport and I think for the most part Sydney city would be easier to reach than Parramatta.

aussie stadium is the only choice. but, it will flop if there arent decent crowds. it needs to average at least 15k to make the stadium seem full.
friday night games are the go. get all the working professional to come along straight after work. the spirit did this really well, so it should work the same way for sydneyfc.

Yeah we see a good example of what size the crowds are when the Rabbitohs and the rent a crowd roosters play on Friday nights. Both these teams are heavy supported by the working professionals.
Note these working professionals are also a problems they are usually single (not married with kids) hence if you want to attract big crowds you need to breed it into the kids as well. Familes normally equate to about 4 bums on seats.
Note knock off work 5 pm game starts at 7pm in town leaves you say 2 hours tops to go home pack the family drive to the ground. ( this senario is not attractive to families).
Sunday afternoons say 6.00pm maybe more attactive.

Sundays would be crap.
If you are in the City watching football, Sat late afternoon/night would make it the perfect start to the evening for lads wanting to go out on the p*ss, and also work well for families.
Sundays are a depressing day for chilling out before the eventual Monday work day.

Yep i agree there. Although Parra Stadium is a good capacity in that it would be close to full every week, it has too much baggage. People from the North and South of Sydney will feel its a Western Suburbs team and ex-NSL fans will be pi$$sed because its Powers former ground. Also, Aussie Stadium, although bigger with 20,000+ in there can have a great atmosphere.

The only problem with Aussie Stadium is that it needs quite a decent crowd to create any atmosphere.
I like Parramatta and think it's a great stadium, but I can understand where people are coming from in regards to baggage etc.
Aussie is probably the only choice. Just hope people turn up.
