i saw some footage on the world game (i think) yesterday where they showed the cup and talked to a player or 2 and it looked like not a single sole turned up at the airport to meet the boys but i could be wrong. kinda dissapointing for the boys if thats the case i think.

Were you there? Didn't think so. There was absolutely no notice about when they were coming back until the day before. People do make plans for the weekend, particularly the long weekend...

nah i wasnt there i had to work all weekend bit of a bummer but shit happens. andy p mentioned it on friday on talkin footy and that was the first i heard of it. meant to bring it up friday night but forgot hence this thread. it was hard to predict when the boys were coming home (unless they were going to stay till end of tournament even if they were bumped out) and with such short notice on a long weekend i spose they got the welcome the publicity warranted. still it would have been nice to be there with even a small crowd to welcome the boys

I was actually in the vicinity of the airport on Sunday and could have easily popped over if informed.

when we started the "formal" part of friday night there wasnt really many people that were capable of organising much. hence the talks only lasting 5 minutes

On that, a quieter place may be more appropriate? To much time standing next to speaker stcks me.

10-15 years of standing next to speaker stacks Matt. I have no volumn control discipline and find it hard to hear in a noisy environment.
