Nothing against the "Curva Bling" set (or whatever its going to be called), but I won't be sittig up in Bay 23. I just hate sitting behind the goal in any form of sport, particularly something that moves from end to end as quickly as football.
I'd love the atmosphere in Bay 23, but I'd rather see the entire game. There's a group of 8 of us (my mates and wives/Gf's) who are all getting season tickets and are gonna sit as close as we can to the half way line.
Sat basically right on half way for the double header at Gosford and it was brilliant. Some of thos bullet throw in's my Milligan were freakish, never seen anything like it. That throw in is gonna be one of our best weapons.
Anyone else gonna be "Joe Stand"?

Looks like you're going to be pretty lonely down there Gav. Nah, just jokes, there'll be a good number of people who wont want to sit/stand in bay 23 or anywhere in the cove. I'll come down to half way when I want to eat my pie in peace and quiet.

its something I'll consider Gav, when i see the prices of season tix, having a season ticket there would prolly still mean that i could go down the cove anyway if i felt like it, i don't reckon any one would notice coz I'm pretty sure that its gonna be GA anyway. I was thinking about maybe the second tier above the cove (off to the side a bit), I'd be close to the vocal lads in the cove, but high enuff to see the end to end play...

having a season ticket there would prolly still mean that i could go down the cove anyway if i felt like it... Good point Wands, I never thought about that. The chicks might not come to all the games, so if all the boys come down, and we have a couple of pre game refreshing ales we could make our way down to the Cove to watch the game with the "enthusiastic" members of the crowd. Ideally the entire stadium would be as loud as Bay 23, but knowing Aussie crowds at games, it just ain't gonna happen. Just don't see 20'odd thousand Aussies singing. I suppose we could dream to have our own Anfield. What do you guys think of SFS as a choice of stadium? It works great for me as I live about 400m from there (in Darlinghurst) but unless you're getting crowds like they do for the Super 12's, it will lack atmosphere. I read something about a purpose built stadium for about 20,000 being built at St George a couple of months ago. I'd have to drive there (which means no drinking ), but somthing of that size is what is needed. Gosford stadium seemed right on the money as far as size was concerned. You never know, we could get strong crowds from the start. There's obviously a large community out there that supports Football (look at World Cup qualifier crowds) its just a matter of getting them to the games. Bit of support from the frikkin Sydney media wouldn't go astray either.

I'll be in and around Bay23, I love that atmosphere, I can always watch the game on telly when I get home to see exactly what happened.

I'll be on the side, as I'm 16 and my family will all get season tix.
However, perhaps we could/should decide a section on the side where we could create atmosphere too ?

Nope, I'll be right in the thick of the action, getting stuck into it with the rest of The Cove.
Looking forward to it, particularly as my other fanatical supporter group, The Burrow, has gotten rather lame lately.

I'd rather get some vocal support on the halfway line as well.

I'm most likely to be around the halfway line for most games, especially when with a large group including gfs. The atmosphere at halfway has generally been not too bad, bit like an average swans game with the odd bit of yelling and one or two fanatics yelling non stop. We could just hear the chants from bay 15 enough to get a vibe from them - the Hey Jude chant had a chance of being picked up at halfway if there were enough willing around halfway.

the only vocal section will be behind the goals and, IMO, the only place with atmosphere. If you like a sing-a-long and a fair load of abuse thrown at the opposition supporters and players, then that is the place for you. Since when was a football game about picking the most comfortable and best positioned seats in the house...leave that for the families, but if you want the atmosphere and don't mind a little beer airbourne when we score then Bay 23 is the go.
'Run, Run, wherever you may be, we are the boys from Bay 23 ...'
