Destroyed ?
I though they enjoyed great success in his era, both as coach and also as a player.

I don't know, but I was talking about ON FIELD success.
He was successful as a coach and as a player. Won championships in both capacities.

Postecoglou had that success because he had a good squad of players. Any young coach that inherits a good squad of players like those at Sth Melbourne would be expected to do well. I like Ange though. He's one of the more tolerable figures in Australian soccer, and does seem to know what's going on, unlike a lot of others. I say give him another few years coaching, Stratos, and he could be up there in the same light as Nick Theo, Zoran Matic, etc. He has also coached a few young Australian (Olyroos??, Joeys, etc) sides as well, so these are all clips on his belt, and dare I say it, he could possibly coach the senior Australian side one day. As for the "split up of funds" from the WCC- always keep in mind that Con Boutsianis was involved in a bank robbery, and who knows what kind of deals had been done between him, other players, etc regarding any info/funds about the whole thing.....
